    • 12 & 13 year olds born between January 2011 to December 2012

    • (Games running Friday with finals/playoffs on Saturday)

    • Anyone just coming off their high school season January 2006 to December 2008

  • Social:

    • 18+, you will see many teams dressed in costume, the main goal of this division is a good time!

  • Premier:

    • 18+, this is a high skill division, and a cash prize will be given to the winners!

  • Masters:

    • 35+, This is a co-ed touch division

Insurance​

  • Nope, you do not need to be registered with Rugby Alberta/Canada. We’ve got you covered! This does mean all players need to sign a waiver before being allowed entry into the grounds. The waiver will be available as soon as you input your roster on Teamsnap Tournaments.

Entry Fees

  • ​Entry onto the grounds on tournament days is free for players (you will be asked to give your name on the team roster for entry). Spectators are $10 (5 years old and under are free). Please ask for a stamp at the gates for re-entry.​​

​

Rosters

  • ​ Each team is allowed a maximum of 12 players on their roster, plus 1 Coach and 1 Manager.

Social

  • ​Join Us for the Official Tournament After-Party! Celebrate the end of an incredible tournament at Ranchman’s Cookhouse & Dance Hall! (9615 Macleod Trail S) The party kicks off after the final games, with three buses departing from the Calgary Rugby Union to take you there (Departure times from CRU: 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm).  

    • Players on the roster get free entry (included in tournament fees). Additional tickets can be purchased at the Admin Tent on Saturday.  

    • ​Don’t miss out on a night of music, drinks, and great company—see you there!

Athletic Therapy​

  • There will be a certified athletic therapist tent on site all day. They are there primarily for emergencies, but may be available for some prophylactic taping for a small materials fee. Please bring your own taping supplies to avoid this fee.

Merch

  • We’re excited to announce that Kukri Sports is the official supplier of this year’s tournament merchandise! Get your hands on high-quality gear, including tank tops, hoodies, balls, and other exclusive apparel to commemorate the event. 

  • Merch can be purchased on Friday (in the clubhouse) and Saturday (at the admin tent). Cash and card available.

Tournament Rules

​

Advancement in 7s Play

  • Points will be awarded to teams based on their results in their preliminary rounds

    • 3 points for a win,

    • 2 points for a draw,

    • 0 point for a loss,

    • A forfeit will be automatically recorded as a 20-0 loss

  • Ties remain standing in preliminary matches; there is no overtime.

  • Referees will start their clock at kick off. After 5 minutes if one team has not arrived, it will be considered a forfeit.

  • If at the completion of the preliminary rounds, two teams have the same number of points, the following procedure will be used to determine the leading team:

    • The winner of the match between the teams, if one occurred, shall be deemed the leading team. If the match in (i) is drawn, then the team with the highest point differential (points scored for less point scored against) shall be deemed the leading team. If the tie remains unresolved then, The team with the highest margin of tries scored for and against shall be deemed the leading team. If the tie remains unresolved then, The team that has scored the highest number of points shall be deemed the leading team. If the tie remains unresolved, then The team that has scored the highest number of tries shall be deemed the leading team. If more than two teams are tied, then rules ii, iii, iv and v from above apply. If teams are still tied after consideration of above, the winner will be decided by the toss of a coin.

  • All matches shall be played according to the World Rugby Sevens Regulations and Laws of the Game with Seven-a-side variations. (unless agreed upon by both teams and the referee - no changes in Premier division will be permitted)

Refund

Policy

​Cancellations will only be honoured via email or by calling and speaking with the tournament director directly. Any other form of communication will not be sufficient to cancel a registration.
 

If the team registration is cancelled within 90 days from kickoff, 100% of the reservation will be returned to the team.
 

If the team registration is cancelled within 60 days from kickoff, 50% of the reservation will be returned to the team.
 

If the team registration is cancelled within 30 days from kickoff, 0% of the reservation will be returned to the team.

** If there is a team on the waitlist and we are able to fill your spot, we may be able to offer a full refund in exception to this policy**
